This manuscript contains several parts, produced over an approximately 150 year spread (source):
- ff. 2r-17v: calendar & computistical tables, early 11th Century, possibly produced at Christ Church Cathedral, Canterbury.
- ff. 20r-89v: Hymnal and Canticles, middle of the 11th Century, possibly at Christ Church Cathedral, Canterbury, possibly in the same scriptorium as BL Cotton MS Vespasian D XII.
- ff. 90r-v: Sequence and song beginning 'Ad mensam philosophie sitientes currite', last quarter of 11th Century.
- ff. 18r-19r: added hymns, 12th Century.
- ff. 20v: title '[H]hympnar glo.' added, 12th Century.
The manuscript is decorated with capitals in red, gold, green and blue; drawings of the Zodiac signs; gold crosses with the letters OG and EN; and miniatures depicting the labours of the months (source).
