Online facsimile available via: British Library Online Catalogue of Illuminated Manuscripts

This manuscript was completed on 12th January 1357, as noted in its colophon (source). It was, perhaps, made for Charles V (b. 1338, d. 1380) when dauphin of France (1349-1364) as his symbol of the lion is used in f. 1 of Part 2 (source).

The manuscript contains multiple miniatures, many of which are partially in grisaille. There are also sketches and written instructions to its illuminators. The themes of the images are biblical.

Basic descriptions of the illustrations are provided by the British Library with the facsimile
