This manuscript consists of Heinrich von Veldeke's Eneas, written c. 1175 and the first courtly romance written in a Germanic language (source and source). The book is based on the Old French Roman d'Enéas, which is itself inspired by Virgil's Aeneid (source). Basic descriptions of the illustrations are provided (in German) by the Universitätsbibliothek Heidelberg with both facsimiles.
