This manuscript consists of Otto von Passau's Die vierundswanzig alten order der guldin Tron der minnenden seelen ('The twenty-four elders, or the golden throne of loving souls') (source and source). It consists of a religious text wherein he introduces the twenty-four ancients of the Book of Revelation who each provide wisdom that guides men to obtain the golden throne of eternal life (source). Each of these ancients is illustrated in this manuscript (source).
