This is one of numerous copies of Guillaume de Loris' Roman de la Rose (source). It is incomplete with numerous missing folios: one between ff. 7-8, 8-9 and 10-11; two between ff. 12-13; one between ff. 19-20, 22-23 and 25-26; three between ff. 42-43; one between ff. 69-70, 83-84, 88-89, 92-93, 96,97, 97-98, 123-124 and 124-125; two between ff. 125-126; and one between ff. 138-139 and 154-55 (source). Despite this, it still contains 2 large miniatures, 3 smaller miniatures, 58 small column-width miniatures and 1 large historated initial (source).

At some point in the late 15th Century, additions were made to f. 172v. An annotation was added in a cursive hand: 'Cest a moy a qui mapartient je le vous feré congnoistre en quelque endroit. Je m'en tiens assuré, c'est chose bien certaine et est commune et notoire' (source). This is followed by two pen drawings, one of a man and one of a woman, which are inscribed beneath in a 15th Century hand 'Jehan Lemorgne' and Perrine Morgnesse' (source).

A list of the folios containing illustrations will be added here in due course.
